Sacrifices and Legacy of the 100th Battalion/442nd RCT

Only The Brave (2006) 1h39m

A haunting journey into the hearts and minds of forgotten heroes of WWII – the Japanese American 100th Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat Team.

Only The Brave is the first motion picture about the 100th/442nd as seen through the eyes of the men who lived it. Written and directed by award-winning playwright Lane Nishikawa, the film is based on the experiences of his three Nisei uncles, who served in the 100th/442nd, as well as the memories of other veterans.

The film captures the personal tragedies and sacrifices of the soldiers as they are sent to rescue the Texas “Lost Battalion.”

Featuring Jason Scott Lee, Mark Dacascos, Yuji Okumoto, Greg WatanabeKen NarasakiJeff Fahey, and Guy Ecker.

Be sure to also join us on March 23rd for a presentation by Seattle Nisei Veterans Committee Commander, USAF Lt. Col (ret) Mike Yaguchi to hear more about the history and legacy of the 100th Battalion, the 442nd RCT, and the importance of their post-WWII Gold Medal recognition.
