Gary Groves Retrospective
Past Exhibition
Gary Groves (Bainbridge Island) is a master printmaker who utilizes Dremel tools to create highly detailed woodcut prints. Typically black and white, and inspired by nature, Groves’ work draws from many influences and skills. These include his background in architecture, pottery, and photography, plus studies and travel in Japan. Groves pushes the abstract aspects of his subjects, yet the work is mostly recognizable. The prints blend starkness and beauty, creating wonder and calm.
