BIMA Summer Camps – Comics: Words & Pictures

AGES 11–13
Comics, manga, and graphic novels all combine words and pictures together to tell amazing stories. In this step-by-step class, young cartoonists will learn the basics of character design, story development, page layout, penciling, editing, and inking techniques through fun and challenging explorations designed to inspire creativity and ignite a desire to write and DRAW stories.

Instructor Bio
Seattle artist David Lasky co-authored the graphic novel, Carter Family: Don’t Forget This Song, which won comics’ Eisner Award in 2013, and he is the colorist of the Newbury Honor Book, El Deafo. Since 2007, David has been a graphic novel instructor to a wide range of ages and skill levels.
