Charles Emerson: Color & Abstraction
Past Exhibition
Charles Emerson (Seattle) is a master colorist and abstract painter, originally from Los Angeles. Inspired by early studies with Josef Albers, he adopted color as a primary language. Emerson creates worlds that float within and beyond our natural lives. His paintings evoke familiar emotions and memories, yet also draw us into unknown territory and possibilities, seemingly not far beyond our reach. Emerson teaches at Gage Academy in Seattle. Formerly with Sisko Gallery, he has been represented by Harris Harvey Gallery (harrisharveygallery.com) since 2016.
