BIMA Summer Camps – Storybook Studio (Session 1)

AGES 6–8

Explore visual storytelling through lines, shapes, and colors while learning the components of a great story! Inspired by BIMA’s collection of artist’s books and the vibrant works of Eric Carle, campers will get hands-on and explore printmaking techniques, bookbinding, illustration, and more!

Each day of camp includes a supervised lunch break & recess at the Waterfront Park and Playground.

Instructor Bio

Lishu Rodriguez is an environmental artist/designer and a current art teacher at a public elementary school. She once heard someone say that creativity and imagination are the seeds for innovation, and uses this statement as a guiding force in their practice. As an art educator, she strives to nurture creativity and imagination. Her classes emphasize exploration, experimentation, play, observation, and various art techniques. Rodriguez’s ultimate objective is for her students to enjoy the art-making process while understanding its vital role in our socio-emotional health and development. Let’s create art together!
