This film was 39 years in the making by Co-Director Robert Weide, who developed a friendship and trust with the provocative author Kurt Vonnegut – to the point where Vonnegut allowed Weide to film their encounters, starting in 1988. Featuring never-before-seen archival footage, this film is an immersive dive into Vonnegut’s upbringing, creative output and philosophies, while showcasing the man’s wit, humor and uncanny insights. Considering the impact this man’s literature has had over several generations, who wouldn’t want to spend 2 hours with Kurt Vonnegut?
