Poetry Reading by Melissa Febos & Donika Kelly

BIMA, in partnership with Eagle Harbor Books, presents an afternoon of poetry by renowned poets Donika Kelly and Melissa Febos. Kelly will be reading selections from her most recent collections, Bestiary and The Renunciations, and Febos will read from Girlhood and Body Work. Eagle Harbor Books will have all four titles for sale at the reading. Admission is free with registration.
Melissa Febos is the bestselling author of four books, including Girlhood—which won the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism and has been translated into seven languages, and Body Work: The Radical Power of Personal Narrative. Her awards and fellowships include those from the Guggenheim Foundation, LAMBDA Literary, the National Endowment for the Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, The British Library, The Black Mountain Institute, MacDowell, the Bogliasco Foundation, and others. Her work has recently appeared in The Paris Review, The Sun, The New York Times Magazine, Kenyon Review, The Best American Essays, Vogue, and New York Review of Books. Febos is a professor at the University of Iowa and lives in Iowa City with her wife, the poet Donika Kelly.
Donika Kelly is the author of The Renunciations and Bestiary. A recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, she is a Cave Canem graduate fellow and founding member of the collective Poets at the End of the World. She currently lives in Iowa City, where she teaches creative writing the University of Iowa.
