Things are changing...

We’re in the midst of changing out all of BIMA’s galleries. This means that for the next couple of days, there maybe be limited (or no) access to the galleries. But have no fear! The BIMA Bistro and Museum Store are open from 10am-5pm for your enjoyment and there’s plenty of art to see in those two spaces too!

While our next exhibitions will officially open March 7, many of them will be available for viewing (even if slightly incomplete) much sooner, so feel free to stop by!

Representing the Under-Represented – Why Artists’ Books Matter

Elizabeth Ajunwa, Director of the Library and Research Center at National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) will share highlights from NMWA. Following, Elizabeth will sit down in conversation with Catherine Alice Michaelis, Curator of the Cynthia Sears Artists’ Books Collection at BIMA. Interviewing each other, they will discuss what these two institutions from opposite coasts have in common and why artists’ books are important foundational collections to their respective museums. Q&A to follow.
