Art Project Schedule:
Saturdays only, 11 AM – 2 PM
June 22 – Bubble/Watercolor painting & group mosaic
Schools out for the summer and it’s time to make bubble art! Using a watercolor bubble mix, we’ll make small hexagonal paintings and combine them to make a community mural.
June 29 – Spin Art: Create a Summer color explosion!
Create a Summer color explosion! Have fun and explore using tempera paint and a salad spinner to create colorful one of a kind paintings with teaching artist Nic Schluter. The process is mesmerizing, and every painting is different!
July 6 – Rice paper lantern sea creature art activity
July 13 – Paper sculptures
Come join us for cutting, folding, scoring, crimping and gluing together a face mask using tagboard paper- you don’t need to create a person- but it’s easy to build character into your paper sculpture construction. Keep your artwork or help us collectively create a creature of multiple personalities!
July 20 – Symbols of Summertime: Mixed-Media Magic!
We will explore mixed-media artwork that reflects each artist’s unique experience of summer. Using colored pencils, paint pens, and paper collage materials, we will develop colorful, multi-layered artwork. With teaching artist Dana Weir.
July 27 – Surrealist Fish Magic, inspired by Paul Klee
Take part in a high-contrast textured acrylic painting project!
