Trans Day of Remembrance
Past Event
The Transgender Day of Remembrance has been held at BIMA since 2017. This year, Bainbridge Pride & Kitsap Pride Network will come together to honor the lives of those who faced too little welcome, reading their names as a testament to their existence and our shared humanity.
In our gathering, we will engage with members of the Equity community to explore our connections and discuss how we can foster an environment of greater care and acceptance. Together, we aim to reduce violence and self-harm, creating a more inclusive space for all.
Bainbridge is committed to ensuring our Trans youth feel safe and embraced, especially in light of the challenges faced by those who have been forced to leave less welcoming environments. We invite you to join in reflection and dialogue, as we honor the past and envision a future rooted in compassion and understanding. Your presence and curiosity are vital to this important conversation.
This event is sponsored by Rainbow Crew NW and our partners; Queer Elders Family of the Senior Center, Transfriending, Bainbridge Pride, and the Bainbridge Island-North Kitsap Interfaith Council.
