Permanent Art Collection Inquiries

Donating to BIMA’s Permanent Art Collection or Museum Assets Program

Do you have a piece of art that you think is a perfect fit for BIMA?

Permanent Art Collection

Donations to the Permanent Art Collection go through a formal process with BIMA’s Art Acquisitions and Exhibitions Committee. BIMA is building a diverse collection that focuses on the contemporary art and craft of the Puget Sound region.

Typically a selected artist will have a track record of creating bodies of work and having exhibitions. The collection is comprised of donated fine art and craft primarily from artists and collections. Examples include painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, wood, artist’s books, fiber and jewelry art.

Museum Assets Program

BIMA also accepts unrestricted gifts of art and other physical assets that could be sold to benefit the art museum and its programs. This is a separate program and is not related to BIMA’s process for collecting art.

Please do not mail or deliver unsolicited physical portfolios of work, including books you wish to be returned. We cannot be responsible for unsolicited materials.

The art acquisitions process may be slow. Decisions regarding acquisitions may take several months or longer.
